Hey all,

I've been lurking around for a bit studying up and putting together a 2k budget for my first foray into mining.
The hope is to start small and move on to 6-8-12 GPU rigs through 2018.

I want to maximize my baby budget and have a (what used to be) pretty beefy production machine. My questions are:
  • Is my hardware enough for minging (mb,ram, cpu, psu)
  • Is the Radeon 4850 worth using? or compatible with the 1070ti's
  • How many 1070ti's can I safely run on the machine if good enough
  • What components if any could be repurposed in order to save as much of the 2k for gpus
  • Any general recommendations for starter rigs such as a trio setup would also be helpful

Take a look at the parts list

Thanks all

Can't view the first link, however, if you want to do expansions later on go for latest motherboard with more Pci-e slots, z270 boards for example, you don't need an i7 CPU for GPU mining, also invest in High rated watts PSU.

No, that radeon don't have enough memory for mining, as possible don't mix Nvidias to AMD as it really a challenging one to set it up

depends on the motherboard you will purchase and your PSU ratings

Most of the components used in GPU mining can be resell if you've given up mining.

one little note: I have 3 1070's and 1 390 Nitro and 1 RX 480 using 388.13/17.7 win 10 64 bit

they are just fine together. YMMV
