My first mining rig

Yesterday I collected some spare PC parts I had to test out mining. I used a HD8350 graphics card and set it up to mine BLC with CGminer. This is my first time mining and since everything went so well with setting up yesterday I am considering to make a GPU rig. So my big question is, which GPUs should I go for? I have a 5-600$ budget. NVIDIA or AMD? Also, power cost is no issue where I live.

I know there are loads of posts about this topic all around the internet but i've tried searching up every graphics card in my price range(for hashrate). But I always seem to find hashrate for other currencies like Ethereum, not blake. Is there a quick conversion equation for this or have I misunderstood something?

Question about what to choose NVIDIA or AMD.
 
For windows build:
1.) AMD need to tweak bios and use MSI afterburner to get a good hash rate.
2.) NVIDIA you will use the only MSI afterburner to gain best hash rate.
 
For Linux build:
1.) AMD need to tweak bios to get a good hash rate and some tweaking with mining software.
2.) NVIDIA only some tweaking with mining software. 
 
For 500-600$ you cannot do much of mining ...

I see. But then again I have the same question. Say I want to check profitability on the GTX1050 Ti. I need to insert hashrate, but the hashrate I find when googling is for ethereum algorithm. What if I want the hashrate for any other, not so popular ones?

I'm not sure how much big RIG you can build with that money! I've built a RIG in May 2017 with 8 x 1060 6GB Cards costs around £2500 for me. It has already ROI'd probably, because I've mined so many new coins and holding them for high prices!

With that being said, if power cost doesn't bother I would suggest you to go for AMD and nvidia consumes low power and good yield and AMD high power and a bit better yield (from my research and understanding, correct me if I'm wrong!).

You don't need to enter the has rate, you need to select the cards you have, you will get the estimated hashrate based on your card selection.

Ethash is the algo for ethereum, many coins share the same algo and what ever the speed you get for ethereum is the same speed you get for any other coins using the Ethash algorithm, it doesn't vary.

Thank you very much for all replies. I will do some further researching with th einfo you've gave me. Also, i'm not looking to make serious money, I'm just a student on a budget that wants some spare/low effort cash.
