The system boots cold with 9 cards. I'm using SMOS. But when I try to boot from OS it boots to a black screen. If I remove the 9th card it boots normal. Why? I am lost to why it won't boot from OS with 9 cards.

Help please.

Please state your hardware, PSU rating, GPUs, Risers, Mboards, ensure that your PSU could handle the 9th GPU card, I have a feeling a power shortage when adding up the 9th card. check also your risers.

Intel G4400
MSI Z170 - G45
Corsair Vengeance LPX ddr4 3000 4gb
9 - MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X
Corsair AX 1200i
Corsair HXi 1000
9 - S-Union 6-Pins Pcle VER 006C risers have no problems with these.
S-Union New 4 in 1 PCI-E Riser Adapter Board 1 to 4 PCI-E 1X Express USB3.0 PCI-E Rabbet Ethereum Mining ETH (4 in 1)
SanDisk 32GB Extreme CZ80 USB 3.0 Flash Drive, Speed Up to 245MB/s
Simpleming OS

This rig has been real good for months on 8 - cards. I add a 9th and it doesn't like it. And no power shortage as you can see. I been using these risers for months and have checked them. I have extra's. I tried an used a m.2 adapter board and it does the same as described in the beginning of this thread. I am using a 4 in 1 pcie riser adapter board 1X to 4X USB 3.0 for the 8th card and tried to add the 9th card there but same old same.

not quite sure if it makes sense, however there are post pertaining to memory shortage in terms with more GPU setups, try to add Mem just in case, OS is not an issue here as you can't get to boot it up in 9th card.
