New to the forum and cryptocurencies. I like the possibility of p2p payments. If I wanted a copy of a magazine from EU that isn't awailable for an online purchas I could ask someone to mail it to me and with bitcoins I could conviniently pay for that... So I'm mining on slush's pool. I first set up the dongle with Win7 since that was the first way I understood it might work. It did. I wasn't clear if Ubuntu would let me mine as user as per cgminer doc.s. Since I have HDTV dongle and another tv tuner to use as a SDR radio I moved it to a smaller pc with xp, it first wasn't a succes since I first unpluged the USB hub just to see how the ASICminer erupter would fit physically, and forgot to plug in the walwort for the hub,,, It's OK now.
Sluh's pool had an offer to do merged mining, so I gave it a try. The software for that was much more difficult to figure out. (confix-txt file issue). I did also try the gui client, but it vouldn't reopen after minimized in Win7.
Before I received the USB eruptor stick I tried cpu mining for prime coin, and wasn't sure that was a good Idea, I have old computers and don't think the CPUs were designed to run at 100% 24h/day? I find all this interesting and ofcause there is much to learn. I will have some questions ofcouse about alt currencies and mereged mininglater. Just wanted to take the first step in the process of posting.

Greetings to all.
