I can see their greatest competitors is eos also. I believe eos can do the worth when increasing it's price since many users who truly also know it's worth. Eth has the more users but most likely eth can be the most on top in the future next from bitcoin.

Maybe QuarkChain or PChain will be main Ethereum competitors because they are faster, smart-contracts compatible but in testnet stage now only, mainnets are planned in the end of 2019.

many will target Ethereum's current position and the most likely are XRP, EOS, ADA and also NANO with increasing sales volume and market conditions.

According to me NEO and LITECOIN is main competitor of Etherum. Etherum is also a strong coin after bitcoin but NEO & LITECOIN also gives fight.

I would choose litecoin for a more mainstream approach or Cardano, even though the latter is more recent and has shown less reliability, it is still a great option.
