hello,

Im new to mining and my knowledge is very theoretical as this moment ..

I got an avalon 741 (7,3t/hs) in december 2017 from minerwarez.com for 798 $  + tax.. and psu for about 200..
now I see bitmain s9 14t/hs are selling on ebay for like 5000  ? wtf is up with that  Grin

It made a steady profit every day topping at 22e / day when bitcoins was skyrocketing and now about 14-15e / day @ 12500e/btc

..anyways with ROI looking this good I wanted to buy more miners.. and all the SHA256 miners are out of stock or used at ebay overpriced, so I bought 3  antminers D3:s  instead for ~1400€ eatch... (wich was not cheap either  Shocked)   I figured I can mine dashcoin and exhange it for other cpyptos..

as of today the miners make just ~10$ / day on viabtc.com  dash pools ,, thats still acceptable if they will keep making that they pay themself off in 5 months..   (prob. wont)

..but I have a gaming computer with 2 rx480 cards and that thingy is making 5-6 e / day on nicehash and those cards where only about 250e eatch.. so that got me thinking should I sell the 3 D3 miners and build  a 2500e  gpu rig  or two instead ?

is it more sensible to wait 3 months and let them mine awhile before selling ?  what are your guesses ?    maby the D3:S are selling  half their price by then ?   should I stick with them until they become unprofitable or exhange them for gpu rigs ?

pro and cons of asic vs gpu mining ?

your toughts and insights are welcome..  Tongue

GPU rigs give you more flexibility and liquidity, but if you know what and where to mine with your D3 you'll be fine too. The rest is up to you to decide.
