I've recently been trying to understand the use of the Bitcoin-QT wallet client with improved BTC transaction privacy and from what I read I should be using the QT client with TOR somehow. I did more reading outside of this forum and also found this thread in the forum:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=190215.0
https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=8.0

but it seems rather technical in areas that I'm not the most fluent in. First off, I'm interested to learn how Bitcoin-QT client would interface with TOR and what component of TOR, when installed on my computer, would the QT client interface with when transactions are made that would improve user privacy. From what I understand, TOR is a software bundle with some sort of TOR-customized Mozilla Firefox browser. But just how exactly does the TOR software bundle or the TOR-Firefox browser come into play in benefiting the Bitcoin-QT client for privacy and anonymity when performing BTC transactions? I would be open to reading any useful resources elsewhere about this topic, if anyone is aware of any. Thanks.
