Hi, I'm having trouble claiming my BCH. A long time ago my laptop screen broke, I used Multibit at the time. Around july, I tried to backup my wallet because I wanted to spend some bitcoins, downloaded the same version of multibit, replaced all the files inside Library/application support/ form my old laptop (I have a mac) and the coins were there, downloaded MultibitHD and moved the coins there. I did not have my seed. so I used this tool to get my seed from MBHD after emptying the wallet : https://github.com/gurnec/decrypt_bitcoinj_seed

This is what I'm trying to recover https://blockdozer.com/insight/address/1xdQN89zEkp2cx8zjLMzjnktDNJnfefkW

Transaction history :
Basically this is the transaction from where I moved my coins from Multibit to MultibitHD https://blockchain.info/address/1Jxb4yF67aMLT5RkRhdpmKipNT9wTG9wrc

Here is the transaction of when I moved the coins from MultibitHD to another wallet
https://blockchain.info/address/1A6vLNynSumVA1hB5iN8i43VNoj3TQ9tn7
In the inputs from this address there is 1mBTC coming from 1LmMyaTYoVKjkcX4xaba2KX6UcZTtdfnEb

Somehow, when used my seed to open a BCH wallet, there is only 3 transactions : 1mBTC in, 4.49 in and 4.49 out and I am left with only 1mBTC from 1LmMyaTYoVKjkcX4xaba2KX6UcZTtdfnEb as my balance.

I tried using https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ and generated over 1000 addresses and I still can't find the address where the 4.49BTC went (which I believe is this transaction is the outputs on this transaction https://blockchain.info/address/1Jxb4yF67aMLT5RkRhdpmKipNT9wTG9wrc)

For visual understanding, here is a screenshot of my transaction histories

The only BCH wallet that worked was electron cash, I had to play with the m'/0' thingy to get it to work.

If anybody could help, that would be great! I have a trezor if that could help and my friend told me to try doing it with it but it didn't work (or we might have done it wrong)

can you extract the private key from that BTC address? The same one the BCC is on.
Or do you only have access to the seed?

I still have access to the wallet and from what I remember the private keys with multibit HD are encrypted by multibit and I'm not sure if I can extract it... Let's say I'm digging online and I find a way to exctract the public and private keys from this address, what would step 2 be?

1. Download electron cash from electroncash.org
2. Select "Standard Wallet" and "I already have a seed"
3. Enter your seed when asked
4. Click "Options" and check the Bip38 box
5. Put in the derivation path (for multibit HD I think it's either m/0'/0 or m/0'/0'.

I already did that and that's how I got only my 1mBTC to show up and nothing else

******SOLVED********

m/0'/0 will only give you the receiving addresses of the wallet
I tried again with https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ and in derivation path I put m/0'/1 AND IT GAVE ME THE ADDRESS I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!! Smiley
m/0'/1 gave me the change addresses and m/0'/0 is the receiving addresses. Nobody really mentions it online.

Thanks for your time guys I couldn't be happier now, it was months and months of thinking I'd never be able to get my bch

I was composing about asking you to check for change addresses
because in https://blockchain.info/tx/26be8e198b1a9133dc705bcdafd4724fb1097d6b49a7f6569af7d73104f449c0
the 1xdQN89zE... was the second output which means change address if tx generated by wallet
and iancoleman.io only derives one path at a time, default is main addresses (must explicitly set derivation path for change)
