Damn.  Glad you got it figured out.  I didn't even know there was such a thing as a compatibility issue between cpu and ram.  15 years in the IT industry and I've not once ran into that issue.

Exactly. I had no idea either. It was the speed. the old cpu needed 2133 mhz RAM, I had bought 2400.
