I'm going to Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Salzburg, Munich and London in September. What are the best Bitcoin places I can visit? I do intend to spend as much BTC as I can Smiley

For clarification: I don't have that much BTC only about 0.9 but y'all get the point.

Berlin is home to the "Bitcoin Kiez" - meaning something like a part of town, where Bitcoin is accepted. You have several bars and restaurants as well as a handful of other shops accepting Bitcoin there. Check it out here:

http://bitcoinhood.wordpress.com/

London also has its first Bitcoin accepting pub, find out more here:

http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2013-06/17/london-bitcoin-pub

Not sure about the other places. Pretty sure Prague doesn't have any places accepting Bitcoin yet (but I might be wrong, do your research). Same with Vienna. You might want to visit Bratislava (70km from Vienna) there is a hackerspace called "Progress bar" which accepts Bitcoin and you might get a beer or some food there for btc.

It's all bullshit. But bullshit makes the flowers grow and that's beautiful.

This particular Kiez is like a single street last I checked.

In Munich there's the Niederlassung (http://niederlassung.org/ or see coinmap.org) that accepts Bitcoins, and in Vienna a model railway shop (or so) accepts Bitcoins but AFAIK unfortunately not yet any bar or restaurant.

well yes, it's two streets actually but I get your point. The "Kiez" designation is probably something they aspire and strive for than an accurate description of the current situation. Anyway, everyone should go there and support it. I went this May and spent around 0.3btc over several days on coffee, beer and food Smiley I have to say it was a great experience paying with my smartphone with btc after enjoying a nice meal and some beers Smiley

Hey Plazmotech, did you manage to spend some bitcoins in the end?

Just back from Berlin a few hours ago.. and I visited Kreuzberg, nice area!
I went with some friends to Room77, small pub in the area very well known. They do accept bitcoins and I must say the process was very fast, no more than 5 seconds and I paid for our beers. The pub has a huge illuminated Bitcoin symbol and many signs inside.
I must also say that it's not exactly like described in newspapers.. I just found two shops accepting bitcoins, Room77 and a records' shop, nothing more. But the experience was nice and the beer tasty!

I haven't gone yet! I'm leaving I believe on the 29th of August (I'd have to check though).
