Hi guys!

I am trying to set up 8 Vega 56 mining rig but I can’t launch more than 5 Vegas as of yet

I tried Aug, 11 and Aug, 23 blockchain drivers but no luck - I get BSOD with atikmpag.sys fail when I try to install blockchain drivers for 6th Vega in Win 10. I can install such drivers for 6th Vega from safe mode but I get the same BSOD if I start Win 10 with normal mode later (if I start Win 10 with 6 Vegas active or if I turn of 6th Vega from device manager in normal mode)

I searched the web like crazy for the past 1.5 weeks and tried a lot of possible fixes (disable ulps, crossfire in regedit, properly reset cards with devcon, used soft power play tables from http://vega.miningguides.com, changed all possible permutations of 6 cards out of 8 available, 120gb virtual memory, latest drivers for Mobo, correct bios settings including 4g and gen 1/2 speed, etc..). But still I can’t run 6+ Vegas at the same time with blockchain drivers.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that I can run 6 Vegas with usual adrenaline drivers (not blockchain) - no problems during the installation but mining performance is ~25% lower

I am quite sure I don’t have any faulty hardware in my setup (details below). So the issue is either the inability of my mobo to handle 6+ Vegas (unlikely in my opinion as I run 8 1070ti on the same Mobo in my other rig) or software issue related to drivers or my set up

As I ran out of possible solutions for the problem, I ask the great community of bitcointalk to offer relevant expertise and advize Smiley I also offer 400 etn for the solution that would let me to run 6+ Vegas on my system with blockchain drivers!

My hardware is as follows:
Asus strix z270e gaming mobo
Celeron g3900 @ 2800 MHz
2x 4gb pc-19200 2400mhz patriot viper4 elite cl15
Ssd adata sata iii 256gb su800
8x pci-e Radeon RX Vega 56 8gb hbm2
I run Windows 10 with all latest updates

Thanks!

Hey,

If you haven't figured it out, maybe I can help you out. But I am expecting half payment upfront, the other half afterwards.

Message me your email address if you are interested (i am limited to one message per day) it is pretty late for me GMT+1 (Norway) if I fon't reply means that I fell a sleep.

If we fail to pull it off, I will refund you.

I have setup 2 z270-p with 8 vegas each, took me a couple of nights to figure it out.

Cheers,
Gabe.

I solved that!

It seemed to be a mobo issue

You just need to leave main pcie x16 slot empty! In case you need to use 8 Vegas - just use 2 m2 slots and 6 pcie slots without main x16 slot
