Hello,

I have been attempting to learn how to setup a lightning node through c-lightning following the READ.ME(https://github.com/ElementsProject/lightning)

I now have  accomplished funding my lightningd, but am unable to connect to a peer/node so I can then open a channel.

E.g. The command cli/lightning-cli connect <node_id> <ip> [<port>] input I give the client is the following :

Code:
cli/lightning-cli connect 0264cf78f7664a259ed245e54828551786604321ac25fb1759e91ae4c0f0574114 86.58.118.96:9735
(This is a node I found on https://explorer.acinq.co/#/)

This does not return any message, the cursor just blinks like the lightning-cli is processing.  The getpeers command returns zero peers.

Any suggestions?

Yeah, I could not connect to some peers. Just try some other ones. I guess these peers are listed if they have channels open, not if they are online.
