The Coming Internet National ID Card

President Obama is planning to hand the U.S. Commerce Department authority over a forthcoming cybersecurity effort to create an Internet ID for Americans, a White House official said, according to CBS News TechTalk.


"[U.S. Gov't is] enhancing online security and privacy and reducing and perhaps even eliminating the need to memorize a dozen passwords, through creation and use of more trusted digital identities."

Oh yes, you can always "opt out", since America is a free country.  They will provide you with the "freedom" option.  At the airports, the "freedom option" is to not fly or get physically molested.  So with the internet, there will be the "freedom" option of not using the internet, or maybe you will be able to go to the public library computers and have everything you type logged.
