Bitcoin-Qt System error

I have tried versions 0.8.3 and 0.8.1 i had 0.83 up and running and downloading blocks but now when i start it . It is telling me System Error and this occurs when "Importing Blocks from Block Database" can someone tell me whats going on and how i can fix it?

What OS are you running?  If you are running the QT on a Mac, I asked a similar question and was directed here:
