Is is because I'm using the Light Client to sync with the network? Cheapest fee is 0.2 ETH

Quite a strange situation, when I used the usual web version of MyEtherWallet, I never watched it, apparently you were at a time when the etherium transactions were seriously downloaded, so they requested such a large payment, but this was not in my life

1 Ether for gas. Seems reasonable Grin

The Ethereum network is a little congested, but not 1 ETH gas congested. Check out https://ethgasstation.info/ for more accurate fee predictions.

I'm using the light client and it only has 1 peer connected. I've not used this before. Could this be the reason?

*I guess I'll just have to wait on my full node to download. Will probably take several weeks at the 1GB/day rate it's been going. Maybe I'll make some while I hold.

thats weird lol. i send 1 eth to my other wallet. only 0.001eth was for gas. 40gwei and it only take less than a minute. 1 eth transaction fee is just plain robbery.

I've never seen that type of fee before.  If that's a regular occurrence then I'd move to MEW or something else.  I just sent ETH yesterday and the fee was quite minimal.

This is not the best time for traders these fees are extraordinary and outrageously high. I think Ethereum should do something about it. The time taken for any  transaction to complete is another hell.

And yet I think that it was a mistake, I see many people think that it just can not be, well, or as I said earlier, you just fell into the peak of user activity, and it just can not be. 1ETH is an unthinkable commission
