To detract from the other shit topics here, I thought I'd create something slightly more interesting for discussion.
People often tout Dan Miller vs Charles Hoskinson, always seemingly favoring Dan. Not saying this isn't right, but I always like to play the devil's advocate to arrive at the correct viewpoint from both sides. So here's my view, and I encourage you to point out its flaws -
Basically, Dan Miller created SteemIt, a working content publication platform based on blockchain, and this is used as justification why EOS will be the dominant blockchain 3.0 winner. In reality, SteemIt is just a working content publication platform based on blockchain.. nothing more than that. The vision of EOS and ADA are far bigger than a content publication platform based on blockchain. Just because that was done well says nothing of the platform that is supposed to revolutionize how humans interact entirely. Past project success is great and all, but the scope is like comparing apples and arranges. Just because you fixed your retirement plan doesn't mean you will be the best treasurer of the United States.
Charles Hoskinson I hear is a shady, sleazy creature and a liar from numerous sources. Not sure why this is so. All I know about him is that he stuck to the principles of immutability by refusing to to support the Ethereum fork, and instead supported the original Ethereum blockchain.. Ethereum Classic. Satoshi Nakamoto is another person who also took immutability seriously.
Another thing that scares me with EOS: Its inflationary model. This is like the USD. Scary stuff. ADA admits that a cost must come from somewhere, so why not keep it as traditional transaction fees? Charles just seems more mature in terms of real world and business experience. And as any businessman knows, great coders, scientists and engineers aren't put in charge of things purely due to their talent since they often lack the management skills to manage people effectively and look at the broader picture that doesn't involve their expertise. Why Is Dan Miller going to be a great manager because he's a great coder? Not saying he isn't a great manager, I'm sure he is, but I'm curious with more of the "why" behind it.
So am I completely missing something here with why Charles is such a shady man and that is the reason we should choose EOS over ADA? The only other argument I've heard is that he peddled ADA ICO shares to Japanese pensioners. My my.. imagine that.. peddling an investment that gave 10,000x returns. I'd have sacrificed my entire education, work experience, and social life, to have been one of those Japanese pensioners that Charles peddled to. Why is this bad exactly?
I'm genuinely curious, and I welcome critique.
