I was thinking $2-3 a day.. Nice to see it is like $2.75-$3.50
I already have a mining rig with (3) 1080ti's that I thought about adding the 480 to, but the 850w PSU isn't strong enough to support the card so I would need to go out and spend like $200 on a new PSU.
Or I can mine for 12hrs a day when my wife isnt using the PC, but it would require me to start it up after she finished work and turn it off before she starts.. Kind of annoying
Why?
Equihash does not interfere with the work at the computer. With ETH of course it will not work. If her work is not load using a videocard, then arrange an experiment.
Your right! and my IT guy said the same thing. However the computer kept crashing so I guess I need to investigate. It only has 4gb of RAM which should be enough, but I am buying another 8gb stick to make sure that isn't part of the issue.
Could simply be the afterburner settings.. I guess I will look into it this weekend. That would be the BEST WIN/WIN though!
you fools do realize there are other resources on the pc that are being used too, not just the gpus, computer crashed for a reason, theres also a reason why a REAL miner builds a DEDICATED mining rig instead of trying to use there own pc for mining like some noob
I do, hence why I haven't been using it to mine. 4gb of RAM is required for a mining PC. If I upgrade it to 8gb I should have wiggle room from a ram standpoint. The CPU is a Ryzen 1700 which I highly doubt it being taxed by mining since I am not mining on the CPU.
Also I have it set to only use 80% of the gpu during mining which should give me enough room for my wife to remote into her company's cloud server and put very little strain on the PC while it mines.. I honestly think something is just unstable, maybe it was the clock settings I had.
Am I wrong or not talking something into consideration?
