   Supporting local products is great idea. Local food particulary, if I am going to buy some potato or bread I prefer to support our companies because I beleive they provide fresh food while foreign companies have to make their producs able to be long time preserved and reduce its quality.
   But i would not support some shitty local hardware developers, auto companies or anything that does not deserve to be supported

What exact country are you talking about? That thing you're talking about calls "the protectionism" and it is common in various number of countries. But the thing is - if your government wants to force the development of national product in some sphere, then the government MUST create such conditions that the sphere will be developed well and fast enough. Otherwise all that stuff will certainly turns into "don't buy that good food, eat this trash and be proud of motherland".

People who love and support their own country are the ones who has strong, unique, prosperous country because their aim is to bring out the best in their country through their products specially when it is a world kind of product than can complete to the world market. Who love our own? if we do not, how can we say we love our country if we do not support it.

Well its also important to develop a trading relationship with other countries but yeah, i think if citizens would support their local products, the higher chance that certain industries would thrive and will take the local economy along with it.

Every country is the best at something. Supporting and spreading your own product makes it accessible for everyone. The positive side-effect is cheapening of such products (market laws)

Everyone has different tastes and choices. Some likes local products and some foreign. But if you use your local products that will be a good development for your country.

In my country, which is Philippines, we used to love imported products not because we don't want our own product but because of our history.
We were colonized by different countries; Spain, Japan, and America. Because of that, we were exposed to different products such as chocolates, canned goods, branded clothes, cuisines, beauty products, etc. It was already in our culture that when someone says that product is imported, we will unconciously think that it's a higher quality than our local product; and I feel bad about it, by not being proud of what we have in our country. I guess thats one of the reason why our country is not developing well.
Perhaps, if we will only consume our local product more than the inported ones, many businessman in our country will be successful, so it means our economy will rise. Our country would be better.

I do believe if we support our own product theres a chance that the economy will getting into the highest level of development,and it shows that you love and care your native land.
