the last comment on the link stating transferable currencys are illegal in US..

I thought bit coin wasn't an currency but rather a commodity? therefore it totally bypasses any currency regulations?

Well the Federal Reserve hates it when people call Gold money, they keep insisting that its a commodity. Seeing that Bitcoin has the same properties as Gold its a commodity. If anybody tries to argue otherwise then one could simply say the Gold is money too right?
