Hey, at least you got a 30, all I could afford is a lousy Jalapeno. That's $660 bucks a month, at the moment, at least.

> just the electrical costs alone

How much juice do you think it's drawing? I couldn't find anything on BFL's website, did you get any docs with it that specify the power rating? You live where power is expensive?

> ALSO BFL is witholding my other 30 gh that i paid for

Why, do you think? They say why? Just curious.

Withholding?

Did you pay it off on the same day? or was it a different order on a different day?

lots of BS from the topic starter:

I have a 30gh miner from BFL. With current difficulty it makes almost $ 28 a day. I pay a lot for electricity, about $ 0.30 per kwh. The minier puls 150 watts from the wall and the pc about 25 watts (it's mostly iddle as the miner does most of the work), that is 175 watts or 126 kw a month, and that makes $ 37,80 on electricty a month. I ordered the miner on preorder (on;y way to get the 30gh) and you probably paid (just like me) $ 600 for it (upgrade from 4 jalapeños). I've been mining for 10 days now and 12 more days, I'll hit ROI not including power costs, but that is like a few more days mining.

edit: now why as a "senior member" do you post such BS in the newbie section? we "senior members" should help newbies and your post doesn't help.  Tongue

edit 2: I hve to correct myself... I paid € 650 after upgrading from jalapeños, + $ 88 to ship to my country and about $ 100 on a pc + $ 150 inport taxes). But ROI should still be possible in about 5 month of mining or 6 due to higher difficulty...

you can calculate it yourself... all BFL equipment use 5 watt per gh/s. and you can use a bitcoin calculator to see how far you get with 30gh/s. Now it's a whole different story with the current BFL miners. $ 2500 for 50 gh/s and producs are not shipped yet.

I estimated difficulty would go up between 70m and 78m, but got 65m. Next difficulty will be between 75 and 85, "thanks" to these ASIC miners (mostly from BFL)

Thanx for that. I just noticed you said SHA256 alt coins. I still have much to learn. NMC is a SHA256 alt coin. So with asic miners you can mine any SHA256 coins. LTC being Scrypt(?) you can only use CPU or GPU altough my electricity cost, would still not get me ROI on those. Where could I exchange those zetacoins?

Yes there are no current ASIC that work with scrypt.
You can modify the ASIC to mine any SHA256 coin that you want.

power usage should be around 200 watts per hour

and newbie section rules, i get to self moderate, the moderators on this site are junk

AS FOR ALT COINS, what's the point? it's all based on bitcoin, if difficulty increases on bitcoin then the price of those coins will go down too

Wth? You're saying that the price of the coins is scaling with the difficulty of bitcoin?
This is one of the worst statement that I've read on this site.
Ask yourself why some alts have 500% profitability for days..

You're sobbing that your $149' $249 or $279 investment is only pulling down 600 per month??? Really?

What is wrong with you? Your idiocy is blinding you. If we were to look at all alts, take a look at: http://www.coinchoose.com/
The current top is IFC, you earn 7 times more mining IFC than BTC, or you could also say that you mine 7 times faster than mining BTC.

Just go to the alt section, use the search button and so on. Mining BTC with low hashrate is not worth it, thus we have so many people mining alts.
The price of alt coins doesn't go down with the rising difficulty, it goes down when BTC gains more value in USD, and if you use common logic that means that they just adjusted to their value in USD.
