Note: This comment is informational only. I have no regrets or complaints to direct at either BitSyncom or BFL; I knew both orders were highly risky (speculative, even). I got a "your order has shipped" email from BFL this morning and it inspired me to post this true account.

I ordered a Batch 2 Avalon on the first morning (ah, memories of driving to the office at 2am PST) back in early February, and I added on a hedge of 1 jalapeno and 1 little single from BFL the next day.

I paid 75BTC for the Avalon, 30BTC for the little single, and 8BTC for the jalapeno (exchange rate was ~$20).

-The batch 2 was delivered in mid-June and has produced ~95BTC as of this morning, clearing 20BTC already. Adjusted for what I could have gotten in a BTC CD over that time period, I'm up about 13BTC on this.

-The jalapeno shipped today, August 27th, and should be in my hands by the 29th. It still has a chance of recouping the purchase price in USD, but I had purchased it with mined BTC from already-budgeted GPUs, so I'll likely experience a loss of around 7BTC on it.

-I'm hoping to receive the little single by the end of September, and anticipate a loss of ~20 to 25BTC; again, it has a decent chance of recouping the purchase price in USD -- if only I had paid in dollahs back in Feb, but at the time $20 seemed like an incredible rate and worth spending at Smiley

The Avalon's been a lot of fun, however, and I look forward to adding to the menagerie.

Congrats!  Sounds like you were one of the lucky ones.

Cheers
