I transferred all of my ETH from GDAX to Kucoin, then immediately sold them all for CFD.  But now it only show that I about 1/3 of my assets are in CDF, and about another 1/3 in ETH, and the rest are gone?  CFD has been appreciating since yesterday when I bought it.  So this doesn't make any sense.

Could it be that the majority of my ETH are still sitting in limbo when I transferred them over from GDAX and waiting to be cleared?

I've heard of people having their balance stuck in processing from both exchanges.
Best to put in a support ticket to see where your entire balance of eth is.
That is the only thing you can do at this point since you are at the mercy of the exchanges when you send from them and to them at the same time. Undecided
