To get ETZ, it is suggested to enter secret keys in a special purse field. But, the MyEtherWallet purse team criticized the EtherZero project, and suggests not using anything related to EtherZero, because this creates a risk for ETH work.

Quoted below is a tweet from myetherwallet :
Quote
⚠ After looking into EthZero, we have no clarity as to (1) what the code is (2) who created it (3) if it is properly licensed. Coupled w/ multiple .exe's that are malicious, we recommend NOT INSTALLING NOR USING ANYTHING RELATED TO ETHZERO AS IT PUTS YOUR SYSTEM & ETH AT RISK

I would probably take this announcement serious. There is no point losing your ethereum for the sake of a forked coin. Some of the replies to the tweet also indicated a possibility of phishing, so be careful if you still plan to go ahead to give out your private keys for claiming ETZ

Good morning! It turns out that everyone who had an ether in the myetherwallet (MEW),has the right to receive EtherZero, but I think that until it is not worth such risks! Therefore, personally,I will wait until Ether Zero becomes more popular, and while experts will confirm its safety!

I believe if they were so honest then they would have sent the EtherZero automatically without asking the secret keys for MEW.

I understand that the initiative not to miss EtherZero on myetherwallet (MEW) was not from the developers of EtherZero, but from the creators of the purse (MEW)!They did not want to take on this responsibility, and gave the MEW owners the power to decide whether to receive coins for the purse or not!

Metamask, Mew and Vitalik think Zero is scam and protect you from losing your private key.
Project has strange github, had no source to check the clients wallet code.
