Hello.  I find that I cannot register on any cryptocurrency exchange site.  I am located in Korea.  All Korean exchanges are currently halted indefinitely until the government can figure out how to regulate cryptocurrency somehow.  I tried registering for the American exchange Coinbase using a VPN but that isn't working either.  Can anyone give me any ideas of what I can do to register on an exchange?

Some large exchanges are generally for the world, for example, www.poloniex.com and www.binance.com support your authentication, so you can not worry that no exchange can be for you to trade

If that's the case, you can only wait patiently for your government's policy rollout to trade, but I think there should be other ways to help you, maybe you can try it out with a different site.

First, have you bought an encrypted currency?
If you already have an encrypted currency, you can transfer them to other exchanges for trading.
If you haven't bought an encrypted currency yet, you can buy it privately and then move it around.

Try other trusted exchanges like Binance or Poloniex etc. but if that does not work then I agree with them just hope that South Korea government will have a favorable decision about crypto currency. Actually not only South Koreans are waiting for their decision but the whole world because their decision will surely have a n impact in crypto currency market.

there are two kinds of "cryptocurrency exchange site":
the ones working with fiat like coinbase. registering on these sites won't do you any good because most probably you won't be able to make a fiat deposit anyways if there in fact is an issue in your country regarding cryptocurrencies.
in order to trade using fiat you should seek more p2p solutions such as localbitcoins or anything similar to that which you can find in your country. i am sure there are places people are trading bitcoin at least.

the other ones are those working with cryptocurrencies alone. for example exchanges for trading bitcoin and altcoins with each other. you can sign up on majority of these without any restrictions or verification requirement. cryptopia.co.nz is an example.

I'm not sure how it is liked there because of your government purging cryptocurrency but i know a lot of people from countries where crypto is banned still partcipating in crypto world by using vpn. And yes, like what other here suggested, if the local exchange doesnt work, then switch to an international one.

You are aware of your country restrictions on exchange. If you eventually succeed in registering,  won't there be rules you had broken? I am also of the opinion that you wait.

Currently the Korean government has set up a special team to oversee bitcoin trading in the Korean market. South Korea has introduced this measure to limit laundering and fraud in the use of electronic money. The government has ordered large local banks to block virtual bank accounts. I think for this reason you can not make bitcoin transactions in Korea.

I am not aware of any ban in the Korean market ,there are certain things they are planning to implement pretty soon in order to trade in the Korean market.

• From January 30 2018,you need to use your real name while trading,meaning no more anonymous trading allowed in Korea
• You have to be a Korean citizen to trade in their exchanges,which mean others citizens are not allowed to trade and have to withdraw their currencies before too late,which also means no more VPN
• No minors allowed.
• KYC will be mandatory

You can try other exchanges but there are strict KYC rules in all of the exchanges and funding those exchanges with fiat will be a hurdle.
