1st Mining rig 8x RX580 please review build list

Hello,

About to build my first mining rig.  I know there are better cards out there than the RX 580 but it is what i can get at a reasonable price.
Can someone please review my part list and tell me if im missing something obvious.  I don't want to start this build and realize im missing something simple.

6/7th Gen Celeron CPU's don't support 2400 MHz RAM. If you are using a Celeron G3930, you should use 2100 MHz DDR4.

Looks good, couple things I'd change, but depends on if you're looking for lowest cost etc:

1. RAM comment made above

2. Power switch is unneeded. Short out connection with screwdriver, then mod BIOS to start automatically on power up, then you can use the switch on the back of the power supply.

3. That's a larger SSD than you need - I have a 60 GB and that's more than I need even.

4. Any reason yuou're going for that specific motherboard? Question: Where are you sourcing your GPUs from that you can get them at a decent price?!

1. I didn't know this about the RAM.  Won't it down clock?

2. I did not buy a power switch.  The motherboards has one on it.

3. I'll look into something smaller.  I thought windows directory was almost 60gb? 

4. I'm using this specific MB because I know a friend with one for his rig and it will 100% work without any messing around.  I was able to pick it up at MSRP so it is much cheaper than any others.

5.  I know i can save some money with home made but i have WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) to think about.  If I wan't to do this project it need to look legit.

6th-gen standard is 2133MHz, 7th-gen standard is 2400MHz. The RAM will downclock if needed. The motherboard's chipset will actually allow the overclock more than likely. Either way it doesn't matter just get the cheapest RAM.

when you say short out , you mean the power pins in the motherboard? i.e. could I use a jumper and leave it there? I always use something metallic to power it on, but if I could leave a jumper there, it would be easier

That depends on the motherboard. Some motherboards like the ASRock and Biostar mining boards won't boot with incompatible RAM.

Typically higher frequency RAM is only supported by higher end CPU's like the i3-i7.

People are paying so much for 1070 and 1080ti right now.  I though rx580 was comperable to a 1070???  those are going for well over $500 right now.

People are paying so much for 1070 and 1080ti right now.  I though rx580 was comperable to a 1070???  those are going for well over $500 right now.

i wouldn't recommend either paying $500 for a gtx 1070. if you really want one, today you can get one for around $400 at rakuten with their 15% coupon on the front page.
for me a 580 at $300 or a 1070 at $400 are ok (not awesome), but I would't pay more than that...apparently some ppeople are overpaying, but not me

Sorry, not sure.

I wouldn't leave it shorted out, but if you enter BIOS you can set it to boot up automatically when it receives power, so that way you can use the switch on your power supply or on a power bar.

Click on Settings > Advanced > Power Management setup, and change “Restore after AC Power Loss” to “Power On”. That way, your miner can restart itself if there is a power outage. Plus, no more needing to short the power pins to get it to boot. I like to headroom i guess. 
Im currently using 1180W from the wall.  My understanding is i want to be 80%  of total.  so 1360 Max

I got a pretty good deal on the PSU so it didn't make much sense to go to 750s

Are you buy will 2 Riser and you use PCIex16 directly your other GPUs?. if you do it directly your GPUs to PCIex16 it's very not safe.

RX580 has TDP 185W x 8  = 1,480 W

RAM normal 2-4 W, peak 10 W Conditions

Celeron 51 W (Series G)

SSD :  2 W

Molex, 6 pin connector (if you're using Riser) or PCIex16 board will need supply max 75 W with or without Riser. 8 x 75w = 600W

total need Power Consumption = 2143 W. it's safer calculation.

in fact, under-volting will decrease wattage of your Cards but it's not safe for the long term if you give small power space for your cards and other parts also.

Looks pretty good. I would suggest getting an active cooling solution so you can get the longest life out of your cards. Good luck my man!
