A Blockchain is Born
After months of negotiations and careful consideration of our evolving blockchain needs, combined with long term plans for the Action Coin Platform in general, we decided that it would be in our best interest to provision a private blockchain based on Nxt technology. The new blockchain is now up and running (behind closed doors), and we plan to provision the first group of nodes on several continents over the next few weeks.
You'll love the platform as much as we do. In addition to a somewhat mature blockchain platform (seriously.. 4 years is a long time in this space), robust with cool features such as messaging, file storage, an exchange and voting, we also gain tens, if not hundreds of thousands of additional users, as a direct result of the JPL Mandated 10% Airdrop to Nxt Holders at the time of our snapshot.
A customized web wallet will be released at the same time as the March 1st token distribution event, and we fully expect to release a desktop version of our wallet within the next few months. Users with an Action account balance of 1,000 or more tokens, will be able to participate in proof of stake (POS) based foraging once the desktop wallet has been released. This will allow us to transition from a centralized web only wallet, to a decentralized token network.
