Set up Pushpool / Join me

I have a VPS running Ubuntu 13 and a domain. I have the dns configured. I just cannot set up push pool. I have tried many times. If you want to be my partner I will give you 1/2 the profit. Profit will come from fees/ads.

It was my impression that Pushpool hasn't been maintained in several years. Am I wrong in this?
