Electrum xPub on Testnet

Hi, all!

I am trying to build payment automation service using electrum.  I created a readonly wallet by importing an xPub key and can create new payment requests by using "addrequest" command.

But I want to test the program by running the daemon against TestNet, and while I have managed to add Testnet wallet to Electrum for direct payments, I have NOT been able to find ANY resource on how to IMPORT an xPub key for generating new addresses with testnet's "tpub***" or "tprv***" format, and "xpub***" based wallets I am NOT able to send any testnet tokens from the faucets to.

Can anyone help or suggest an option?

Apparently the ability to import "tpubs" is being investigated/implemented by the Electrum devs:
