Already made a thread here and pointed at how how this could be a vector attack used by those that want to incriminate bitcoin users in order to scare potential users in the future and damage the network by disincentivize running nodes, see here:

This is why I think we need an encryption sub forum. If I was running I node, I would try to encrypt the whole thing, otherwise governments may want to put you in jail in the future, these bastards wants to put us with criminals for running a blockchain.

What do I think? I think that whoever funds this university needs to ask for a refund.
It took them 5 years to realize something almost everyone here knew already?

No doubt some of those who committed the crime took advantage of technological advances in the blockchain. But on the other hand we also need to judge more wisely that the progress of this technology is very significant impact on finance.

That is scary, and could really harm the long term growth of Bitcoin. I was looking into running a full node later this year, but this is turning me off a bit. Could they potentially successfully do this? If so, we gotta come up with a solution fast!

Well, this is not a shocking news it is expected that the technology of bitcoin in blockchain may abuse those people who had illegal activities behind this technology. Hopefully, they will fix this problem as soon as possible it is may destroy the reputation of bitcoin near in the future due to all countries are against on this technology.

This question also comes up in my mind and how to recover this problem.

On our country, if they can't make it in legal way, they will do it in their way.
shame on those people who really wants the blockchain to be stop.
Well they can't do that with that. they can try more and harder.
BTW, expect much worse than this, soon!

This is just FUD to attack Bitcoin on yet another angel. This is because the "terrorist and drug money" has been proven by the masses to be used more by fiat currency. Now they are targeting a different angel. This will blow over as well, but its a really sensitive topic for most which is why its making the major news outlets.

That is irrelevant. This is obvious FUD by bringing back "news" which were "news" years ago in order to keep the price down, we all know that, but the point is, in the future, I predict governments may legislate to make the blockchain illegal by claiming it contains illegal files embedded, even if it's only links. These guys are insane, and you don't want to end up with human trash in jail when you did nothing wrong, I think the only option left for these running nodes is going to be to encrypt their stuff, better be safe than sorry or you may end up regretting not doing so. Never underestimate how governments may try to do the impossible to get all of you in trouble for being involved in bitcoin, even if it takes bullshit of this level.
