hey guys, so after lots of search, the only available gpus for me are ASUS 1060 strix for $350 and the MSI 1080 armor 8gb for $888.
I got zero electricity cost, but the roi seems to be a bit long and I'm not sure if things gonna go worse with time. my targeted currency is zcash.
I can buy 2 1060 and 1 1080 that's all I can afford but the I just can't risk losing this amount of money I need your opinion on what I should do, it's my first rig and I'm kinda nervous.

I can help you.

This is great research you've conducted thus far. If you want the opinion of this community you need to go where the experts hang out. For mining, those experts lurk in the mining board on this forum.

Specifically, you should move this thread to the Mining Support board, where you'll be able to get expert advice on getting started in mining.

You'll find that board here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=40.0

When talking about mining profitability and ROI, you definitely have a huge huge advantage when you don't pay for your electricity, that way, your profit actually almost doubles in most cases; just make sure you're doing it legally. ROI will definitely take a bit long, but the good thing about mining with GPUs is that you can still actually use them or resell them if ever you planned on stopping your mining operations. This[1] might help you decide on what to mine.

In most cases, your ROI is much much higher by just diversifying into several different solid altcoins. use the money that you were initially going to use to buy the rig, and dump that into the crypto market.

screw the 1080. buy the 1060s.

1080 is equiv to only 1.5x 1060s in my experience.
