Help with CPU mining

Hello everyone, I'm kinda new on this world, I was dragged by a friend a few weeks ago and I've been trying to read, learn and understand as much as I can, but is overwhelming the hugh amount of information, so, I might need some help.

I've been reading about mining, but is a bit confusing to me, not an IT guy, just a regular one with, probably, an above average knowledge of computing, or at least that is what I think.

I've read mining bitcoin is a waste of time if you don't have a hugh machine, which I don't have, so I looked on Altcoins. Still a waste of time if you try to mine powerfull coins without a nice GPU rig, so I decided to learn with a new coin that allows CPU mining, I know it won't be profitable, but I guess it will help me understand.

So question #1, is there a guide for non IT guy about CPU mining I can read?

and question #2 I've seen tons of coins to mine, what would you recommend me to try with to start?, easy and simple.

Basically there is almost no difference for beginner between CPU and gpu mining. Both will be something like:
1. Choose coin.
2. Choose mining pool.
3. Create wallet.
4. Configure mining software.
5. Start mining.
6.
7. PROFIT

For CPU mining I recommend you to mine Monero because it's old enough and still profitable. If you want something new,  than try Yenten or Kotocoin.

I have a regular computer with CORE I3, according to information here, it's said that it's very difficult to mine any coin.

You will barely get a few cents and spend a lot more in energy by using just a i3. If you really want to mine altcoins and earn money, you will probably need to buy a few GPU's.

For example, if you mine at Nicehash with a i7-7700K (the one I have), you will end up earning only ~$40 per month (minus your energy bill). And that's not very profitable.

Done steps 1 to 3, but I crash at 4 like hitting a wall with my head.

I tryed with monero as I understood is "easy" to CPU mine, but I can't even make the software run, and I just don't know I'm just dumb or I'm missing something important. That's why I asked for a dumb guide for people like me.

As mentioned above, you really wouldn't bother CPU mining. It'll make your CPU run full tilt and be bad for your hardware. If you want to get in to mining, source some GPUs. Even get a few cheap ones to begin and learn before investing more in the future on better equipment if you decide to continue down that path.

At the moment I'm mining ETN and Bytecoin. They seems a good choice. Have a look on these two coins. I use bytecoin.uk and etn.nanopool.org as mining pools. Hope this helps for a start
