It's vary between others. So you better do your own research and decide what's best for yourself. And to be honest I think it's really bad to asks for someone's advice regarding this matter.. But since this is cryptocurrencies market we are talking, I think you should just find the most 'hyped' project out there and get a quick bucks out of it. People loves 'hype stuff' and most of the time they don't even bother to learn the project anymore. Oh well.

Look at this list
https://coinmarketcap.com/new/

And look for the individual projects by clicking on their link.
Look for the team, the roadmap and plans to reward the token holders.

Looking for a low cap coin to invest a small portion of my portfolio into. Any recommendations to aid in my research?

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/cobinhood/  heres one I've been looking at.. I think this exchange although low liquidity and somewhat limited coins.. has a really nice interface and with a couple of things going their way could be a very useful coin.. I bought a pretty small stack on this pullback and will be looking to add if it keeps dropping.. this one is obviously a high risk/reward oppurtunity and should be treated as such with not going heavy if interested... my biggest earner was BNB coins last year and am using some of those profits to invest in another risk/reward type earner.

I think anything dealing with decentralized exchanges/exchange protocols will do very well this year.. Loopring and 0x I think have high potential but theyre in the top 100 so they don't count.. but my eyes will be on all decentralized everything this year.. I think its becoming more important than ever to have some more anonymity in this space.

Anyways just opinion.. not trading advice, take it or laugh at it. good luck! Tongue

Instead of struggling to find cryptocurrencies that out of the top-100, invest in the top 100 cryptocurrencies first is suggested, and then look for some of the good ICOs, buy and hold them.
Cryptocurrencies within the top 100 survive better than others and ico can boost your profitability.

I  can say that it is Oyster Protocol (PRL) this is the future of website monetization and distributed storage, which is built on IOTA Tangle and Ethereum. Oyster Shell (SHL) will be distributed if you have Oyster Protocol (PRL).

You should do some serious research on the 2018 plans for Safex.  IMHO, it’s seriously undervalued at about 3 cents.

It will be moving onto its own blockchain in the near future.

Safex has bucket loads of potential:

- privacy coin
- The new blockchain will feature an anonymous marketplace.
- initial airdrop of Safex Cash to tokenholders (to seed the marketplace)
- Safex Cash will be mined via Cryptonight algo
- Marketplace fees will be 5%, which will be distributed to token holders as a dividend (if tokens are staked)
- voting rights

I don't want to make speculation with investing in new coins because they are still very very new alternative coins and it is very very dangerous to losing the money in them (it is huge risk) i just want tell my opinions to choose Cardano ADA coin check this https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/cardano/ it has potential in the future because it is one of many candidates to be third generation of blockchain and the Cardano's price is still cheap too, just share my opinions and not investment advice thank you very much.

Just an opinion, I think I would prefer Waves, Monero and Ethereum Classic. Waves at $7.73 USD price value, Monero at $306.68USD and Ethereum Classic at $34.46 USD. I prefer this three coins because I observed that on the price chart history, graphical data seems to be going on the upward trend which I believe these coins are potentially increasing.
