Why CredibleToken?

CredibleToken has been created to solve the puzzle of bringing decentralized, anonymous trust scoring to mobile devices. We aim to become one of the foremost layers of security used by application developers when making decisions on if a device is trustworthy enough to perform the action they are attempting to perform.

The primary motivators for us are to end the costly, centralized nature of existing device trust offerings, grant the developer community a low barrier to entry (as reading CredibleToken trust data from the network will not be charged) and improve the ability for device software creators to reduce fraud.

A small, but willing & capable team, granted, who have a tremendous amount of development & security experience between us. This we feel is actually a positive, we genuinely observed a legitimate problem in the industry and have come together to solve it, because we have had that same problem previously and required a heavily centralised solution. We have all been involved in delivering mobile/fin-tech based (as well as others), secure application estates for some time now, and have seen this come up time and time again.

Rather than try to shock & awe people with marketing hype, we are genuinely trying to solve a real-world problem.

The token presale goal we have is largely explained in the whitepaper, but it will primarily be to fund extended marketing activities to ensure the crowdsale reaches as large an interested audience as possible, as well as beginning the entry to an exchange.

Read your whitepaper like the idea of using blockchain tech to combat fraud, but you only mention apps in your whitepaper what about extending the idea to websites is that something you have considered?

Also I would consider rewording your announcement as you have a lot more info in your whitepaper I nearly didn't download it (glad I did  ).

Hey Peter,

Thank you for the feedback, I will re-word the announcement to focus more on the whitepaper, as we certainly do have a fair amount of information in there compared to here (we didn't want to flood the page).

In terms of a futures roadmap - web applications are absolutely in there, but our first M.V.P focus would be on iOS/Android/Xamarin native applications - we would be able to build on-top of this and extend to web.

I think that’s an interesting idea - the likes of IOvation generate a browser id but this falls down as can’t actually link to a device id - you can’t tell browser A is on Device A. Enjoying this project and where it could go.

Thanks for the comments all - this is in part why we believe blockchain is a better technology for our use case than the existing centralized / private data oriented systems. It is a really exciting space and something we are really proud of being a part of!
