I registered for bittrex a couples months ago at a friend house....now, every time i try to log in to bittrex from my own house, it directs me to a page that says "new IP detected" and I have to go into my email to click a link in order to allow access. How do I fix this problem and allow bittrex to recognize my home IP?

If anyone who's had this issue got answers, please do share the wealth.

There's no fix on this one and this not a bug. Bittrex added this function to protect the users from unauthorized access of their accounts in other words hack because user will need access to the registered email address in Bittrex. For me I don't mind that issue as long as it adds protection to my account. With all the smart a** hackers out there, any kind of free protection would help protect my investment. It kinda irritating specially for those using dynamic ip address, but it serves its purpose.

I guess it's good protection....but can't we add our IP to a list of allowed IP's? would definitely make things easier and still keep protected.

I log in Bittrex in my office and in my house and they are around 18 kilometers away from each other, I have no problem logging in my office because we are using static ip address but in my house our broadband gives my a dynamic ip address which requires me to open Bittrex from a link sent to my email. I guess system will automatically detect if you are using the same ip address but there is no way for us send them a list of good ip addresses that we are using.

Perhaps you have dynamic IP addresses that change every once in a while, that could be the issue with bittrex not recognizing your home IP address because for me, it works fine. It only asks me for email verification when i go onto a public hotspot or something like that.

This is obviously an inbuilt security feature. I'd rather have to go through this trouble every single time i log in, than to get my funds stolen. Plus, a lot of other exchanges actually make this mandatory, not just on new IP logins.

You could ask bittrex about it, though. It's worth a shot. Perhaps they've got the answer.

Just security system from Bittrex to avoid various forms of misuse of member accounts in Bittrex by irresponsible people.

It does not matter to me because when I can verify the link provided by Bittrex then I can login to my account.

Exchange must protect members' funds that is why they are trying to do a lot of security systems.

first it’s risky to access your account from many PC and many IP.
it is safety tool you can disable it but better to keep it

This is part of their own security mechanism put in place to ensure that your account is safe and there is no way around it only if you want your account compromised. Its not only Bittex that do this even blockchain.info do same as well and the moment you stop receiving such, you should be worried on a high note.

Anything we connect to the internet, an IP is generated and depending on your service provider and the network at the point, it changes and that is what Bittrex and others put in place to be sure its still the same person who is accessing the account.

No they don't have such option, your IP might change everytime you will restart your router or even without restarting your router your IP can change.
I am also facing similar issue with bittrex login but it is fine as I can easily click on link sent to my email in the next open tab.

Don't forget to add 2fa as email verification alone might not be enough to remain protected.

I think it's good for the security of our account. because bittrex wants all its users to feel safe and protected from hackers so every entry bittrex there is always writing nep ip detected. and it can not be set in settings. Because every time ip will definitely change constantly without us replacing the ip laptop will change at any time. even if we use the same laptop and internet.

It's also happened to me, always click a link in my email everytime i want to login but i'm completely fine with it. I know it's a bit annoying but it's for the safety of your account though. I don't think you can't fix that problem or ask about your problem to their support, maybe the can do something.

There is really no reason to do the whole login thing again, after clicking the link in the mail.
At polo they also do the email on new ip thing but you are already logged in after clicking it, as far as I remember.
That's acceptable, but at Bittrex its really annoying...

I understand it's good for security, but I don't understand why they have to LIE and say I'm logging in from a new IP when I'm not. Just be honest and say I need to pass the email verification.

If I'm not wrong even blockchain wallet also we need to enter the password again to log in after clicking the link from the email.  As long as the feature is to protect people accounts then we shouldn't complain even though we need to do few extra steps to log in because it is much better than losing your funds by hackers.

Yes, but they don't need to lie about it. If it's not a new IP, don't say it's a new IP.

Had the same problem. Did a raindance around my router, smashed it to the wall, literally into pieces, made no prisoners. Now works !  Smiley

Just get a new router, they´re cheap, i mean, we go up and down by thousands, a new router can´t stay in the way.

Yep, i was really annoyed by that, i just use API keys lol. i think those who have dynamic IP address can make use of IP whitelist function (available in bittrex's settings page), just define a range for example like this 192.168.x.x-192.168.x.xxx.

as far as i know, your router is not the one assigning you IP addresses, it is your Internet Service Provider that assigns you new IP addresses. some ISPs offer "static IPs" and "Dynamic IPs" with the dynamic one being most common.
the dynamic IP means every time you connect to internet, you get a new IP address which will be something like X.Y.3.4, X.Y.7.3, X.Y.22.250,... the first two are usually fixed because they tell your location (country,...) and the next 2 will change dynamically.

You have a dynamic IP address wherein every time you turn off and on your internet, you will have a different IP address. I believe there is a way for you to make it static IP address so that it would not change every time and then bittrex would not prompt to make you log in again because it already recognize your address.

I don't mind doing this every time though because it serves a s a protection for me in case someone tries to access my account. It is more of an advantage than a disadvantage. I don't mind verifying it in my e-mail and logging in again as long as I have the extra protection and it would just take some extra minutes to do this in exchange for your account being protected and one step farther to being vulnerable to hacks.
