I know - this has been discussed in a gazillion threads already. But this time it's different, because we already built the forum. We are using very vanilla Discourse forum and are running it on a decent server rack. It should be able to hold up quite a load. Discourse is a great piece of forum software and its moderating tools will help us build a better community with less scams, less one-word useless bumps and less metatalk about nothing.
We decided not to customize Discourse very heavily at this time because of it being still heavily developed (but very stable and secure nevertheless). We will need developer help in customizing the forum and building bitcoin specific plugins and customizations. If you want to help with that please feel free to contact us at Dbtng (debating).
Discourse so far incorporates infinite scrolling, efficient search, pinging of @usernames, forking discussions and a lot more that you either did or didn't know were missing in most forum software you've used.
