Hello, I know the Korean forum is small and doesn't have an active moderator, but this has been a big problem.

Accusation
1.Background
Justin Dowman is a guy that offers translation
For example,
“Hello! Are you looking for a professional translation? We have a qualified team of translators from English, Arabic, Indonesian, Spanish, Chinese, Croatian, Greek, French, Hebrew, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Filipino, Polish, Korean, Portuguese, Romanian, Turkish, Russian.
Our team moderate national branches and promote projects in the markets of southeastern Asia.
We have a group of not only translators, but also specialists in crypto currencies, SMM, site building, graphic design.

If you are interested, do not hesitate to contact me on Telegram: @mcay10 (https://t.me/mcay10).”

Now as you can see from here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2850101. his English is really bad, and the community is suspicious of his offer.
So obviously, they want to see samples or feedbacks from others and they refuse to share.

We get following people asking for the price/ praising the service.

Asking for the Price:
Logger
Nicholas Duncan

Praising the Service:
GTX980Power
SmarterCrypto
AtomicDoge

2. Evidence
Now let’s focus on GTX980Power who is in charge of Phoenix Global Crypto Community. Now, if you check out their Korean ANN, it’s clearly auto translated. I requested the moderator to remove it but here’s the link:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2966212.msg30472356#msg30472356

It’s posted by a user named logger and logger thanked him for the Korean translation in here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2851260.0

So, we now know Justin Dowman’s agency does a crappy job in translating (at least in Korean).

Conclusion: Justin Dowman and his translation staff is a scam in terms of Korean translation

Now he claims that his group's translations are professional but when I pressure him on it. He admits it but rather gets annoyed. The problem is that he has been claiming that he can provide professional Korean translation to everyone who is looking for Korean translation when it's clearly not professional. Therefore, to avoid more projects from falling into his scam, I urge you guys to look at it and put him in red.

Thank you.

Looks to be a typical user who can't speak English so posts generic replies and breaks forum rules. For example, he posts very short replies in off topic as well as posting the "Great project" sort of replies in the altcoin section.

Seems like his 'team' offer everything under the sun too, a lot of languages offer as well as site design. I can't leave feedback for these reasons above, but you should probably consider contacting a trusted member that can speak Korean and get them to review the annoucement thread that they have translated.

Yes, the discussion has been going on here as well. But when I reported to the moderator, it has been marked as inaccurate so I think they think his group's translation is "good" enough. Everybody in our Korean translation group thinks it's auto translated. I realized that it has been fixed later. It still has some typos and etc though.

Justin Dowman sent me a pm saying he's not a scammer and it's just he's got a bad Korean translator. So I told him I will not pressure him as long as I don't see another auto translated post by his group.

If you've reported his translation services then that wouldn't be removed due to moderators not enforcing scams, or potential scams they only remove spam and the like. It's up to the DefaultTrust members and other members to use the trust system to tag scammers.

If he's got a bad Korean translator then that's not good for business and should of been double checked by someone not involved, has he now got rid of that translator?

Well, his "new" Korean translator makes several typos so no, it's not professional.

Actually, the real scam that's going on has been these guys:

They are not only posting announcements in auto translated format, but also commenting in auto translated format as well.
It's kind of funny actually.

Hopefully the warnings are enough on their thread to prevent people getting a poor service. Though, it does seem that this sort of scam/poor service is rife in the local boards specifically. If you know someone who is Korean and also has a good reputation then you could get them to have a look and judge the translations and possibly give a negative if they think it's justified.

The account Logger is most likely a bought or hacked account.
Logger's last active is from June 22nd 2015, after that the account suddenly reappears on February 12th 2018 and start spam posting accross the forum with one liners.
This is very different when compared to post made in 2015 or its vocabulary.
Same thing with AtomicDoge, woke up from long period of inactivity and different wording of posts.

It would be great if DT members can investigate whether these 2 IDs are bought or not and possibly -neg it Smiley

I don't think anyone is sane enough to take his "service", the only users whose asking for a price are most likely his alts.

Mods don't deal with bad service, that's why DT system are here.

It's also interesting to look at this profile as well: jadehorse

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=263597

He was inactive since 2014 and then suddenly he's active in 2018. He posted both Korean and Chinese posts. And he's asking for his service here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2850101.msg30460801#msg30460801

and here as well: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2851260.msg30919701#msg30919701

And here's the weirdest part.

On Phoenix Global Crypto Community ANN https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2930554.0

Justin dowman says "I'm glad that we helped such a good project to rise and translated it to different languages. Wish you luck:)" at February 17, 2018, 07:09:23 AM

GTX980Power responds "Thank you for your job!" at February 17, 2018, 07:38:26 AM

jadehorse asks "Give me the link where to join the project" at February 17, 2018, 08:27:50 AM

But then jadehorse asks on Justin Dowman's service thread that "Give me please the price in PM"  at February 17, 2018, 08:31:55 AM

Now as you can see, this doesn't make sense. The translation work for Phoenix Global was already done, so why would they ask for translation? Also, it doesn't make sense that jadehorse asks them to give them a link to join the project and then look for translator just 4 minutes later. We know his request was related to Phoenix Global because  jadehorse only posted translations of Phoenix Global. How likely is that somebody who doesn't know about the project suddenly looks for a translator? (that's already done?)

It's also interesting to see  AtomicDoge, logger, sugarfree, jadehorse, and I_am_not_a_robot here bumping up the thread in Chinese (By saying this is transparent and a good investment and etc (and yes, I can read Chinese)). Their Chinese translation is, from what I can read, is actually legit. They are also bumping up the thread in the English version. However, considering that they are also offering to use his service even today, I think there's a high chance that they are linked.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2948068.0

Now all of this has led me to an interesting question: Maybe Phoenix project itself is a scam?

So beside the fact that they do not disclose their team and there are some obvious typos on their website, there are some news that you can go into claiming that it's been covered in these news

Phoenix.Wiki Launches Revolutionary Blockchain Based Financial Algorithm That Continuously Multiplies The Users' Funds & Maximizes Returns
Posted: Feb 14, 2018 4:05 PM

As time progresses it seems the adage, “Out with the old and in with the new”, can be applied more today in the Finance sector than maybe ever before. Usually investors think Mutual Funds, IRA’s or 401K’s, but thanks to recent breakthroughs in Cryptocurrency we now have a whole new set of investments. Phoenix.Wiki brings investors the blockchain based Phoenix Algorithm which will allow crypto investors to exponentially grow their investment using Smart Contracts.
Helsinki, Finland, Feb 13th 2018, Phoenix.Wiki took the Finance industry by storm this week with announcement of the launch of their ground-breaking new platform on February 14, 2018, at 10:00 GMT, that is set to change the way investors invest. The Phoenix platform is a decentralized autonomous organization based on a blockchain technology that exponentially grows principle funds and ensures transparency of all processes. Phoenix is controlled by a smart contract technology that acts a safe-keeper to the investors’ funds because no one including the Phoenix team has access to personal financial information. This type of investment platform has whet the appetite of many investors thanks to several features including confidentiality, security and transparency backed by smart contracts.

The Phoenix platform is quite unique as it operates on the Ethereum blockchain-based computing platform and has a special mathematical algorithm that allows its users to make money in only a couple of days with minimal financial risks at play. This tool runs on a self-explanatory financial algorithm that will continuously accumulate the users’ investments for every successfully completed round. Since this is built using blockchain based technology it is completely transparent and administered within the smart contract. This means there is no human interaction, no fees, no brokers…only the smart contract which oversees and executes the disbursement of funds. The smart contract provides simplified trading operations which makes it easy for more people to participate in the Phoenix platform.

Client Testimonials is a sure sign of the state of affairs of any investment platform. The feedback has been phenomenal, with comments such as: “So far, the results of your new algorithm have far exceeded my expectations”. Another client said: “I have spread the word about this incredible investment opportunity amongst my family and friends”. What users are most pleased about is the fact that there are smart contracts based on blockchain technology that cannot be changed by anybody. Not even Phoenix can access personal data or make any changes in the smart contracts. It is the most secure investment platform available on the planet.

Investors that are interested in participating in or learning more about the Phoenix.Wiki investment platform should visit their official website at http://www.phoenix.wiki or download their Whitepaper directly by clicking here.

Now I think another sign that it's a scam is this. A guy named I_am_not_a_robot (remember him?), he says "Guys, I invest 2,2Eth in the first round and got 4,4Eth. You can see it in Internet transaction. I like this kind of earnings"https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2930554.msg30754139#msg30754139

and Xterry who says "Cool things. I've already earned 4 Eth. What will be the next?)" You can see that he has been posting ANN and promoting Phoneix project before he claimed he earned 4 ETH. Now, don't you think that smells fishy?

Other people who claim that it's a good investment were also people who were inactive since 2014 and then suddenly become active in 2018.
Zosergag
openyourmind
and etc...

*Also, if you are a potential scammer and reading this, I took screenshots of all of them so don't delete them. It would just make you guys more suspicious.
