I wonder if there are many stagnant coins that are very similar to BTC. 

Stagnant might mean fewer than 25 blocks mined in the past 3 months.

Some points of similarity would be:
  • Block Time of 10 min.
  • Initial Block Reward of 50 coins
  • Total Issuance of 21,000,000
  • SHA256
