I have read a ton sense entering the community and I always see people saying certain coins will fail based on (enter reason here) but what coins have actually failed after their release?   When I say fail I mean to 0, no more devs, no more mining, no more trading, DEAD.

This token does not have a good exchange, there is no transaction volume, the team does not maintain the development of this project, so it is almost certain that this ICO project has died.

A good token also requires good exchanges and trading volume, and it also requires a lot of support from fans. Currently, many ico projects are below the issue price, and the market has seriously lost confidence.

Here's a useful and sort of sad site ...

http://deadcoins.com/

I think a cool project might be to research some of them that say "Data Missing. Add it!"

And then there is the Parody category. Hilarious.

But I think it needs updating. Probably too many dead coins to even try to keep up!

Dogecoin started out as a joke, but quickly became a very serious cryptocurrency backed by a passionate community. In 2014, the community became known for using DOGE in charitable acts. Most notably, the community raised enough DOGE to send the Jamaican bobsled team to the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The currency even survived and thrived through two hard forks.

But, it all got ruined when Dogecoin exchange Moolah went down, with founder Alex Green running off with everyone’s money. After Green shut down the exchange and disappeared with its funds, DOGE crashed, and the community all but disbanded.

Since then, Dogecoin has not been able to return to its former glory.

When I was new in crypto I might have mined some dead coins since I wasn't aware that those are not being traded. One I remember is quazarcoin or qazarcoin.

Of the coins I met and traded above 100+ coins are already dead. Mostly due to dead nodes and no exchange.
With the diversification of a use of blockchain and coin, mineable coin whose price depends entirely on speculation are bound to be dead leaving just a few.

I would say that obviously ZClassic (ZCL) is obviously dead...it went from over $200 down to $10 in just a moments time. Be careful out there!
