Who was the main source of FUD about Binance?

I always like to know the biggest and most influential names in the news industry who try to peddle fake news. So if anyone knows about the big names that were saying that Binance was hacked, going down, people lost all their money, etc. I'd love to hear the name of the people involved with trying to stoke fear in the market and fuck everything up.

I don't know anyone in particular, but most rumors usually originate from Twitter or Reddit.

I think that cryptocoinsnews has jumped the shark a long time ago. Not that they ever were pretending to be a seirous publication (anonymous admins etc.) but the problem is that most btc news sites jump to conclusions very easily. Reproducing news without much fact checking just for the traffic. Overall, FUD spreads like wildfire in the space of crypto.

Good luck trying to pinpoint a main source for this, when one person hops on it so do the rest. Even if it isn't true, which can lead to misinformation in the space and that often time leads to overreaction in the market. Probably the same thing here, story was juicy and people wanted to share the gossip. They didn't get the details correct, and the market incorrectly overreacted. Also, most people conveniently left out the fact that the accounts that were effected, weren't able to withdraw BTC. That alone should have slowed down reaction on the hack, but alas the most important detail was seemingly left out of most of the scoops. A major detail such as that is left out it will not only change the narrative but it will lead to erroneous decisions after the fact.

I would think that most of the crypto news sitees are also bought and paid for by the highest bidder. I do think that these sites did start off with good intentions and probably providing quality news, though when you're presented with a boatload of cash to write a BS story to change investors feelings and fuck the market then you simply do it. That's how greed and the world works.

These sites become corruputed slowly, and I (sadly) don't blame them for doing it.

This is only second hand information so you'll have to verify it yourself but my source of the information was from telegram groups where people were saying that McAfee was saying (presumably through twitter) that binance had been hacked.
