Hello Everyone, first time I’m posting on here, and hopefully I can get some good help and the answer I’m looking for!

I’ve been reading forums /watching videos about mining farms and cooling them and just have not been able to find the answer I’m looking for.

Basically, I’m am in the process of opening a farm in the UK which will have around 100 GPU to begin with which i am looking to increase. And around 20 Antminer (Mix of s9 and L3).

The only thing that I am finding hard to work out which is probably also one of the most important things is the ventilation/ cooling. I understand that simple air intake and extract using commercial fans will be sufficient during the winter. But I am worried this will not help in the summer and my miner will begin to overheat.

I am going to be operating in a industrial unit, which is around 1500 sq ft and I just don’t know how I should go about placing the miners. I have thought of putting the in rows on a raised floor to bring in cool air from outside and then extract it from above. But hitting temps of 30-35 Celsius in summer, this can become a problem.

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Also. If someone can get me the answer I need am definaltly looking to tip as this will help me so much!

The goal is to maintain good airflow of cool air going in and hot air going out. A setup like this one is ideal.

You should then consider windpower a huge plant would be your best shot, uk has very whirlwinds all year round, should invest on such thing first then think about mining.

I think also a big issue could be the dust in industrial areas. Watch this movie at min 3:32 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Jqf_wZKFCc

Ahh, this is kind of what I was planning to do but will this not be a problem in peak summer as it will be sucking in hot air?

Even during the summer the air outside is much cooler than the air around the GPU's. What you want is a constant flow of air from the outside dissipating the hot air from the rigs. Here is a container design based on the same principle. You can see how cool the rigs are with the constant flow of fresh air.

So airflow is the answer!

Now my next problem is where can I get fans of that size in the UK, would it be better to import them in from China or is that too risky in terms of quality?

Where in the UK are you located?

This was my setup, I’m moving it to something similar but with silent ventilation soon.
Waiting on other parties, so I have a whole farm sitting in boxes at the moment  Angry

Hello,

I am also interested in your solution as we are also thinking about a mining farm setup in France/Belgium.

We are personally thinking about a liquid cooling system with a cooling oil.

Keep in touch Wink

Have not looked into liquid cooling. What are the equipment/running costs roughly?

Hi,

I'm also from the UK and have 100 GPUs running. Don't you find the electric costs sky high over here? Looking around on the internet, even in some parts of the US I'm sure I read somewhere people are only paying $0.06 per KW/H. Changing the air in the room is the best bet for cooling, but also filtering the incoming air to stop dust particles is really important. I actually have a load of huge fans / filters spare at the moment as I was due to move into a building but the deal with the owner went sour.

Can't PM you as I don't think i have enough posts.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply! And so far I haven’t got my rigs setup so I wouldn’t know how bad it is😬. But yeah defiantly in comparison there is defiantly places that have cheaper electricity costs compared to London especially. But it just mainly due to Convienance.

Also what intake do you have available maybe I can buy them off you. Also did you have a ducting system connected to yours?

Another thing is can you let me know where you got a hold of the fans in case I want to
But them new.

Regards
Bobby

I'm doing some basic mining in the UK - but not at the level you guys are doing. Well done, and good luck!

For myself I'm looking at getting a home battery system, charged from solar and Economy 7, so my electricity cost will be <5p/kWh.

Is that your real name? You're giving details that aren't really needed based on the questions you're asking.

If you hold Crypto or Crypto mining equipment you are a target for theft, kidnap and extortion; it has already happened in the UK several times.

You need to protect your anonymity, if that's your real name start by deleting this thread/account.

That's interesting, can you provide links reporting on the kidnap / extortion going on in the UK?
