If they’re going things like this in the Third World, you know that governments in the west are more than accommodated with the existence of Bitcoin.

They might even be a bit more covert about using it, that’s why they’re being deliberately slow with their own bits of legislation lmao

duh!!!! The government has their own intelligence and information connection everywhere, everything happening in their territory they have someone make the report for them especially when the controversy is hot and big! Nothing new if they use bitcoin or study bitcoin by engaging the government itself, they just have to form a team for the mission.

Just more one common day at the world's most corrupted country.

These guys are the government and the parallel government at same time. They don't worry about Bitcoin being banned, legal, grey area since it doesn't affect their particular businesses (and in this case, it helped a lot).

Once Bitcoin starts affecting the economy significantly, then they will worry because it will generate unstability on their personal businesses/profits and it will affect negatively the spreadsheets they have to present to population every new polls' year, spreadsheets that are the "proof" of their competence and reason why they think they should continue leading the government for more a period of time.

I think the government are slow to legislate cryptocurrencies because they understand that the underlying technology has huge potential benefits for mankind. It would be a terrible idea to ban cryptocurrencies simply because they're difficult to tax, which is the main rationale behind many of the so-called bans or sanctions. The government just needs time to get its head around them, and as many people are aware, governments move very slowly in all things.

For a government to come up with a regulation is not that easy, here we see corruption and nothing else, they have attached the name of bitcoin in the end but it does not say how many money is converted to bitcoin and the article says that only a small portion is converted to bitcoin, since this is a government fund it is not that easy to spent the budget to purchase bitcoin just like that and since bitcoin is attached to it,it is getting a global attention.

Why did you start such a troll thread lol?

How can you say the governments don't know about bitcoin?

-A south american country is about to launch its own ICO...
-China banned bitcoin and crypto... Now they're going after mining.
-The SEC is dealing with Bitcoin Futures (SEC is a gov't org)
-Ron Paul was in the government (still is in in some ways), and he has been actively advocating for Bitcoin investing...
-FBI owns millions of Bitcoins....

Huh

I'm part of a movement to make the forums better.

The government knows every thing that you and I are doing at every point.

What do we think is government? Government is simply you and I. First, going to democracy, Abraham Lincoln defined it as "the government of the people, for the people and by the people". Even when it is not democracy, people are still involved in running that government.

Therefore, the government has the greatest means to unravel anything they want to. The government is always the first to know because believe it or not, governments have allays with the people and within different governments too. So, they are very much aware of bitcoin and can't totally stop it because it is internet based plus it is technologically inclined.

Most government of the third world countries are unaware of the existence of bitcoin and the cryptocurrencies world entirely because of they high rate of under development when it comes to technology and advance techniques. But the government of the west are highly developed and has the technological know how to control and regulate it activities.
