Finding numbers for ICO funding in 2017?

Hi everyone,

I recently researched about the total funding done via ICOs in 2017. I found several different websites and they all have different numbers. For example "business insider" writes that last year the total ICO funding was about 5.6 bn. USD while "Coinschedule" has the cryptocurrency ICO stats for 2017 and according to them the total funding was 3.88 bn. USD with 210 ICOs. Another source "Icodata" claims that the total funding was 6.1 bn USD with 872 ICOs.

Can someone explain to me why the numbers differ so much?
