Maybe it's time to update your crypto trading strategy.

Online Interest in Cryptocurrency Word and Phrase Searches Decline Considerably
According to data from Google Trends and Insights searches for the word “bitcoin” is declining rapidly. The chart dating back to March 2017 is almost identical to the BTC/USD weekly price chart. The same can be said for a variety of popular words that reached peaks at the end of 2017 like the words “ethereum,” “ripple,” and “cryptocurrency.” Google’s data suggest that all of these words including “bitcoin” show searches are down well over 80 percent.

It's expected, since the price of bitcoins has gone down and the hype just died down. The hype cause a lot of people to get curious about bitcoins back in december and now the effect of the sudden loss of momentum can be seen. I think it' just natural to happen and bound to happen. What is nice though is that we now know that the world knows what bitcoins are and that is good for bitcoins.

Since this is Roger Ver's PR mouthpiece-domain, I'm not surprised they are pushing this.

Want to see the drop in BCash searches? They look a lot worse than Bitcoin.

https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=Bitcoin%20Cash,BCH

For comparison, Bitcoin overlaid on that chart - https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=Bitcoin%20Cash,BCH,Bitcoin

Makes Ver's ego-project look like a fucking rounding error.

https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=buy%20bitcoin,buy%20gold

If you compare "buy bitcoin" with "buy gold" the only country where they seek more for gold would be to Australia.

Gold is still used for various searches like researching a gold ring, or a cell phone in gold color. But Bitcoin is specific. People who research on the term of Bitcoin want to buy so I believe that although the interest has somewhat diminished. We are moving so that Bitcoin is the main "reserve of value "of ordinary people.

Pokemon GO all over again!  Grin The hype from the 2017 price jump just died down that's why. Most people who heard about the fad are just not interested anymore because the price isn't what it once was and they're probably thinking that it's too late to invest time and money.

99.8% of bcash searches were probably for bitcoin anyway and crudely hijacked. the sooner it dies the better for everyone or if they had any balls at all they'd do a proper rebrand and make a success of it on an honest basis.

no hype can last forever. the crypto hype was epic. it'll come back some day with a vengeance. we're lucky to have such tools available to us.

Exactly, and I would assume that the google searches peaked during the December madness. So obviously, since we are experience a slump, I wouldn't be surprise that the google searches will tend to dip. And then there's government regulations, social medias like Facebook and Twitter banning ICO advertisement has something to do with the hype dying down as well.

But I'm sure that it has reaches as far as the four corners of the planet and sooner or later we will see another peak when the price hits all-time-high again.
