Hi guys, I have a jailbroken iphone 5 still running iOS 6.0. I need to update my iOS to 7.0 or whatever. My question is that because I have 2 factor security on everything (coinbase, blockchain.info, email) using google authenticator, will upgrading my iOS affect google autheticator in anyway? I don't want to get locked out of all my apps. Like for instance, if something goes sideways (and i have to do a full restore), which has happened to me on several occasions, will it affect my google authenticator, and therefore prevent me from being able to log into coinbase or blockchain.info?

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know the specifics of iOS upgrades, but you should have your 2FA secrets (the codes or the QR images) backed up somewhere so you can restore 2FA if something happens to your device. And if you have that, then it doesn't matter if your iOS upgrade breaks your 2FA, you can just restore it from backups.

Thanks for getting back to me. What do you mean, like tale screenshots of the barcode that 2fa requires during the initial set up? Thanks i didnt think of that

Weird, so now itunes or my other programs wont even detect that my iphone is connected. I wonder if it is because my iOS is so outdated.. Its as if my whole iphone is encrypted and not even detectible
