Where are the MtGox Bitcoins?

All the bitcoins can be traced on the blockchain, so someone traced the btc stolen on MtGox?
If I stole some btc I have to transfer from address X to Y.
Then I have two options:

-Selling for cash and I'm clean.
-Money transfer in bank account and I'm vulnerable.

They stole a huge quantity of btc, millions of dollars, impossible to sell all for cash.

so it has to be easy to track the hackers and know where are now the bitcoins? Or i'm missing something?

That way can also be done to track bitcoin, but usually their bitcoin is already directly used for trading transactions in altcoins, and it severely inhibits tracking, but it should all be overcome.
