Hello,

Quick question. I know that you can see the most merited threads etc but is there a way to see the total merit awarded within any thread?

If this doesn't exist I would propose it as a suggestion although I am fully aware it is not all that important.

Thank you for your help.

I'd like to take a completely different stance to that of tranthidung. I thought that not only was the original post fine in terms of writing quality (i understood and didn't quietly rewrite in my head), but I like the idea of seeing the total merit awarded within any thread. My only concern would be that people could attempt to spam on high merited threads in the hopes that some of that love trickles down to them, which would then have an adverse on the thread.
A cursory search on 'LoyceV' didn't bring me the topic noted by Tranthidung (though i'm not sure if understood, as their response was 'bad-written-english') however I would gladly give it a read if it was brought to my attention.

You should write with more appropriate English. Your current one is bad-written--English, so it's hard to understand what you wanted to imply. Furthermore, I don't think that you should create such a topic (of I do understand what you wrote).
Oh, get off your high horse. The OP’s English is considerably better than yours. My guess is that they are a native English speaker although using an informal writing style with not much punctuation.

As for the actual proposal: meh. I think merit primarily pertains to individual posts. A thread might have a couple of meritable posts near the beginning but nevertheless degenerate into a spamfest.

You also think it's unimportant, but it is quite a nice suggestion. But the percentage of it being needless outweighs the neediness. Besides, only handful of threads receive more than 20 merits, you can just easily do some quick maffs to know the total merits.

Wow. Did not expect to come back to this today and see that my English was being bashed  Shocked I find that quite remarkable and hilarious.

Anyway, thanks for your responses. It's a shame such a thing does not exist and it would be a welcomed change but as you've correctly mentioned it's not likely to ever be a priority.

I'll lock this up now, thanks again guys  Smiley

Oh and p.s. bitperson you're absolutely right, born and raised in the UK.
