Coincheck May Be Under New Management

Coincheck is a Tokyo-based cryptocurrency exchange that experienced a major hack earlier this year. According to Nikkei sources, they may soon be under the management of Monex, a Japanese-based brokerage firm, considering buying a majority stake in the exchange.

Just yesterday, Monex issued a press release to confirm that it was indeed planning to take over Coincheck, although it has not been completed yet. They will reportedly replace the management team and rebuild the Coincheck platform in a possible agreement. If successful, it could be worth seven billion yen. The final announcement may be declared this week.
