So as the title reads, I bought 6 of the asicminer block eruptors along with an arctic breeze usb fan and a powered hub just for the fun of it. They run fine for a couple of hours but then they all go dead/zombie.

1) Why do they go into dead/zombie status?

2) Anything that I can do to remedy this?

3) If not does anybody have a script(windows) to reset them and take them out of dead/zombie status?

TIA

I had bought three of those Anker 9+1 Hubs.  Two of them did this and the third was always solid.  One fried in less than 24 hours and I remedied issues with the 2nd by plugging it into another USB hub.  Now I never get a Zombie and they have been running solid for a couple months now.

So if you have another USB Hub try plugging your new one into it.  Also make sure your hub is supplying enough power.  Each Block Erupter draws 500ma so if your powering 6 you need more than a 3 amp 5 volt Power Supply for the Hub.

1) Why do they go into dead/zombie status?
-Sounds like a power issue more than anything, but possibly bad hardware - what specific type of hub and power supply is it?

2) Anything that I can do to remedy this?
-See above post....

3) If not does anybody have a script(windows) to reset them and take them out of dead/zombie status?
-Do a search here on cgwatcher

agreed sounds like the hub cant provide enough power to power all devices. unplug 1 and either use a 2nd hub for it or a usb on the computer

they go into zombie when cgminer detects it but cant use the device

They go zombie if the system has detected it at any point, and it becomes no longer usable/visible.

I had that happen on my Anker 9+1 port hubs. Eventually the power supplies crapped out and I replaced them with these (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TUMDWG/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). My BE's have been running flawlessly ever since!
