hello,
so i have backed up my wallet.dat before reinstalling my windows 7 and now i would like to reimport that wallet.dat file into a new bitcoin client.

i tried just replacing the wallet.dat with the original one and i can see all transactions, but greyed out. also the balance is zero.

Now you wait until you have downloaded all of the blocks, your transactions will un-grey as you receive the blocks that include them.  Your funds will adjust accordingly.  Downloading all of the blocks might take longer than it did last time because there are more blocks.  I currently show 138292 blocks.
