Sometimes the questioner has posted comprehensive replies in previous threads. It's quite clearly a ruse to increase post counts, and to scratch a bit of merit.

Since when did people started to Merit such useless questions/posts that they try to scratch Merits doing it? Its nothing else but mere foolishness and lack of knowledge that drag people into asking all these pointless things in a forum compiled totally with useful information. I sometimes feel pity, mixed with a bit of anger, for those people who waste their own time in posting them and our energy for reading them and then replying them with harsh comments coming out naturally from the inside.

Maybe the only solution to this problem is to add a new simple rule, which is the newbie member cannot create any topic.

Yeah it might work but this will add another wall for beginners to learn about crypto. I don't think it'll do a better environment for them.
Moreover, this is the main forum for crypto talks. This should be more open for discussions than any webpages out there.

I'd suggest to just ignore such topic to lessen the bulk and to avoid posts deletion. (topic is deleted)

Look close, notice how its all newbies asking those questions. They just want to boost their post counts and ranking without getting banned/posts deleted. Yes it is tiring, the altcoin section suffers the same fate. Probably a lot of bot activity aswell. Can't do much about it though.
Ugly truth. I would add to this words that newbies just too lazy to surf the forum and search for all the information in previous topics and comments, so they chose to start a new thread instead; that's why we see all this basic nub topics over and over again.

I agree with egtrader. Especially this meta section is full of newbies asking why aren't earning any merit. Usually in some broken English. "Why I not get merit for post. I make 3 post and has 0 merit why?"

It is pretty exhausting. I am not even sure why anyone who isn't at least a jr member can start a thread. Or if you want new coin announcements from people who just created an account with their coin's name to be able to post, just require you be jr member or have at least 1 merit to create a new topic. I think that would cut down on some of the more lame stuff.
